Preschool (Day 30)

I subbed in 4 yr old preschool today, so as usual K came along. He had a blast finger painting! :)

Day 28

I found this great site that allows you to print your child's name with dots so he/she can learn how to spell his/her name by tracing the letters! It's so cool! Kaleb thought it was so fun to "write" his name. :)

YUM! (Day 27)

We had Papa Murphys (PM) tonight! Normally, not a reason to celebrate...but in Tucson it is! When we moved here 6 months ago there was not ONE PM in all of Tucson! We were shocked!!! PM is a staple in our diet...Mike worked there when we lived in New Ulm our 2nd year of marriage and we had PM at least once a week in Neenah. Thankfully, a few months after moving here Tucson got its first PM, but it is 20 minutes from us so we don't get over there much. NOW, there is a PM only 3 miles from our house!!! Yet another reason to love where we live! :)

I got an awesome deal on a big box of K'Nex last week. Now every night after supper Mike and K build very fun things! This helps K relax before bedtime and gives Mike time with his son. I have the opportunity to work on my transcribing without interruption!

Day 22

I got this box of stuff FREE from houseparty.com! There are various businesses that want their product seen so they select some people to have a house party with their product! There is an application for each house party and if you fit the profile, you get free stuff sent to you. All you need to do is have some friends over to share the free the stuff with! They also ask that you have a website (through houseparty.com) to keep track of who's coming, what you are doing, etc... This is the 3rd time I've been chosen to have a party! I've done:
*Hershey's Bliss (tons of free chocolate, notepads, magnets, pens, napkins, coupons)
*Philadelphia Cream Cheese (free cream cheese, cds, recipes, recipe holder, coupons)
and now *Velveeta (velveeta, rotel, coupons, bag clips, dip bowl, ritz crackers, velveeta holders)
Anyone can apply for various parties! Just go to the website and see what's happening right now! It's super fun and all FREE!! :)

Today we visited the Air & Space Museum of Tucson. It had hangars filled with historical airplanes and rows and rows of planes to walk among outside. I really enjoy photography and wanted to try something different, so my photo today is K's reflection in the body of an airplane. You can't see it very clearly, but I tried! :)

We visited Colossal Cave Mt. Park today. This picture is of some stalactites in the cave. The cave wasn't really pretty, but it had lots of interesting formations .

Snowball Fight (Day 15)

Today at Little Lambs our theme was "snow". K had a blast having snowballs fights with the moms and kids.

Window Fun (Day 14)

It's a little difficult to see, but K was having a blast drawing all over the front window today. Thanks to Auntie Heather for super fun window markers!!

Day 13

K likes to play baseball, but since the T is broken the only ball to stay on is a little ball from the bocce ball set. Hey, whatever works! :)

eegees (Day 12)

Eegees is a restaurant you can only find in Tucson! It started out with two guys selling eegees slush drinks from vending trucks and grew to a restaurant chain. eegees serves subs or grinders and slush drinks. The subs are yummy and K loves the slushies. If you ever visit us in Tucson, we will be sure stop by eegees!
(BTW, I took the picture while we were driving by so it's not the best quality...)

Grilling in January (Day 11)

Really, I'm not trying to rub it in, but it rocks living in AZ in winter! Never before has Mike been able to grill out in January with short-sleeves on. Seriously, this is the life! :)

Day 10

It's rare for me to actually want to share a photo I am in, but I thought this one of Mike and me at the Phoenix Zoo turned out nicely. We had a fun day today!

Collection (Day 9)

I have started a new collection since moving to AZ. It's a collection of figurines representing AZ wildlife and plants. I started with my favorite cactus--the saguaro. It's called the American Legacy Wildlife Collection and I've seen the pieces sold at many gift shops in Tucson and surrounding cities. I'm not too excited to add the tarantula or scorpion to my collection, but I guess they are part of AZ!

Kindness (Day 8)

K got a $.50 animal from the grocery store today. When we got home he rushed into his room to show "baby jaguar" all of his toys. When I walked by his room he told me "baby jaguar" was cold so he had taken his blue blankie (favorite one in the world!) and covered up "baby jaguar". And he melted my heart once again...

Normally it is sunny here--not a cloud in sight! Today started out gray, cloudy, rainy, damp and cold. The clouds are starting to break up now and the sun is coming out!
